Meghan Markle planning to move to New York City to pursue careers like Angelina Jolie, Amal Clooney
Meghan Markle is reportedly planning to move to New York City to try to reinvent herself in East Coast political and philanthropic circles, an insider close to her told Heat World.
According to an insider, Meghan and husband Prince Harry have 'failed' to find space within California's celeb circle, and after 'frozen from Hollywood', are now looking to settle in NYC this summer.
The source claims that the couple has set their sights on midtown Manhattan because they want to dig into the political and philanthropic side of things.
The insider shared, "Living close to the United Nations will give him many opportunities to spread his wings in philanthropy and politics."
It claimed: "They're both keen to be more involved, as well as attend all the big conventions and do a ton of power-going on the East Coast. Meghan is herself as the next Angelina Jolie or Amal Clooney Watching."
The insider explained Meghan's ambitions: "Amal began her legal career in New York, while Angelina was a fixture in the city as she established herself as a goodwill ambassador. So, it's — evident in New York. On top of social benefits and tax breaks - going there is a no-brainer.
“Plus, it is a small hope for Washington DC, which is great for Meghan as she broadens her interest in politics,” the source said.
While Prince Harry and Meghan will reportedly keep their California home for the occasional visit, the move to NYC is said to give them a "chance to resume socializing".
"Meghan and Harry love the cut and thrust of Manhattan. They always come back from there and rave about how cool the vibe is—especially Harry, who finds it similar to London.
