Molly Shannon accuses late Gary Coleman of sexual harassment

Molly Shannon speaks on a recent show and includes this episode in her memoir 'Hello Molly'

Molly Shannon recently revealed that the late Gary Coleman sexually assaulted her during her early career days.

According to People, Shannon appeared on a chat show The Howards Stern Show on Tuesday, where she explained the traumatic incident of meeting Coleman. The Saturday Night Live veteran also recalled the same moment in his new memoir Hello Molly.

The 57-year-old told the host that he signed with an agent for the Different Stroke star and was given the opportunity to meet him in his penthouse hotel room.

While alone with Coleman, Shannon felt uncomfortable with his subtle vulgar gestures and later became aggressive.

“He was relentless and he was trying to kiss me and I was like no, Gary, stop. No,” she recalled.

Shannon alleged that he tried several times and the last time he tried to hold her, he threw her and locked himself in the bathroom.

The actress explained that she somehow managed to "get out" of the room, better telling her agent to "see" Coleman.

Shannon regretted the timing because she didn't stand up for herself.

"I wish I could stand up for myself more," she concluded.

For starters, Coleman died in 2010 at age 42 after enduring several medical problems, including a seizure, transplant and a lifelong kidney condition that stunted his growth to 4'8" .

The publication reached out to Coleman's representatives for comment, but did not receive a response from them.
