Princess Diana 'wanted to be with Prince Charles' even after bitter divorce

Princess Diana reportedly still loved Prince Charles after the couple split, according to a royal expert

Princess Diana was reportedly still in love with Prince Charles after the couple split, with a royal expert recently claiming that the Prince of Wales was the love of Diana's life.

Express UK quoted royal writer and expert Kinsey Schofield on what would have been the late Princess of Wales' 61st birthday; Diana died in a car accident in Paris just a year after she divorced Charles.

While Diana and Charles' relationship was famously tumultuous, Schofield believes she 'still wanted to be with Charles'.

Speaking to Express UK, Scofield said: “At that point in her life, she had made a lot of sacrifices for the royal family and it was time for her wants and needs to change. She sacrificed a lot and she did everything Which she was told to do. And at the end of the day, she still didn't win."

She added: "I think she wanted to be with Prince Charles. I would still argue that she was the love of his life; I don't think she was the love of his life."

Schofield continued: "But I think she still wanted to be with Prince Charles."

"He gave her an heir and he gave her an extra. And she showed up to events and smiled. And she was a superstar despite not following through. And she did everything she was told to do. And that's then remained in line until she realized she was not being rewarded for following instructions,” she concluded.
