The Blue Dragon Series Awards kick off the red carpet with glitz and glamor at Paradise City on July 19, 2022
The Blue Dragon City Awards for Excellence in Television and OTT in South Korea was organized by Sports Chosen (a sister brand of the chosen IIbo). The awards elevated content produced and invested in Korea by streaming services including Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, Watcha, WaveWay, Kakoa TV, Coupeng Play and Twing.
In light of the growing popularity of Korean dramas and variety shows, Sports Chuna decided to host the awards ceremony.
The awards honor talent in the quality of content—shown on streaming platforms—which is receiving worldwide recognition and accolades—as opposed to television networks.
Famous Korean celebrities graced the red carpet in their beautiful outfits. Some won majors at the inaugural Blue Dragon Series Awards, such as Lee Jang-ji winning the Best Actor award for the popular series Squid Game, Kim Go-eun winning the Best Actress award for Yumi's Cell, and Kang Ho Dong winning the New Won Best Male Entertainment for Journey to the West.
