Oscar-winning Australian actor Geoffrey Rush, co-starring Johnny Depp, will receive the Crystal Globe Award for "outstanding contribution to world cinema" at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival next month, organizers said on Tuesday.
Rush, 70, won an Academy Award for Best Actor in 1996 for "Shine."
Best known as Captain Barbosa from the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies, Rush was also nominated for Oscars for "Shakespeare in Love", "Quils" and "The King's Speech".
Benicio del Toro, who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "Traffic", will receive the Festival President's Award.
The 56th edition of the festival will be held from July 1-9 in the western Czech spa town of Karlovy Vary.
Johnny Depp plays Captain Jack Sparrow and Geoffrey plays Captain Barbossa in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies. (web desk/AFP)
