Ana de Armas explains why female bonds are not needed
Ana de Armas believes there's no need for James Bond to be female in her latest interview.
Anna, who also starred in No Time to Die last year, was Daniel Craig's final venture as a British spy agent.
Reportedly, the makers of the film are looking for the opposite sex as a replacement for Daniel's Bond character.
Speaking to The Sun, the 34-year-old actress said, "There is no need for female bonds."
"There should be no need to steal someone else's character, you know, to handle it," she told the outlet.
Talking about the role of Bond, who has been portrayed as a misogynist, the Deep Water star said, "It's a novel, and it leads to this fantasy of this James Bond world and that universe." is where he is."
"I want female roles in Bond films, even if Bond remains a man, to come alive in a different way," she said.
Anna said, "Women are given a more important part and recognition. I think that's more interesting than turning things around."
