Prince Harry and Meghan Markle refute long-running claims they named Lillibet after the Queen without approval
As The Daily Mail reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly voiced long-running claims that they named their daughter after the Queen after the Queen.
The Duke of Sussex specifically named his daughter Lillibet after his great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth, who was called Lillibet as a child by her late father King George VI and then her late husband Prince Philip.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, a Sussex spokesperson said: "The Duke had spoken with his family before the announcement - in fact, his grandmother was the first family member he called."
“During that conversation, he shared his hope to name his daughter in honor of Lilibet. Had she not been helpful, they would not have used the name,” the spokesperson concluded.
