Julia Roberts to star in romantic comedy 'Ticket to Paradise' after more than 20 years


Julia Roberts revealed that she considers herself a housewife after having three children, explaining why she hasn't starred in any romantic comedies in 20 years so far, in a recent interview.

In a conversation with The New York Times while promoting his upcoming series Gaslit, the actor was surprised to learn that he hasn't made a romcom in such a long time.

"I consider myself a housewife," replied the Notting Hill actor. "It can't be 20 years, right? Here's the thing: If I thought something was good enough, I would have done it.

The 54-year-old mother of 3 explained, "But I've also had three kids in the last 18 years. That raises the bar even more because then it's not just 'Is this stuff good?' It's also the math equation of my husband's work schedule and the kids' school schedules and summer vacations. It's not just, 'Oh, I guess I want to do this.'"

Roberts then said that not doing a romantic comedy was not 'by design' because the actor said he couldn't find something cool that he was interested in doing.

The actor tied the knot with cinematographer Daniel Moder in 2002. The couple shares 3 children together, which includes 17-year-old twin sons Phineas and Hazel and 14-year-old son Henry.
