Queen's birth anniversary tarnished with anti-Taj sentiment: 'Abolish the monarchy!'

The Queen faces mounting pressure from groups who put up anti-monarchy billboards in nine UK cities

Queen Elizabeth is facing rising Republican sentiment, reports Express UK, as pressure groups managed to put up anti-monarchy billboards in nine UK cities on the eve of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

According to reports, Republic, a pressure group campaigning for an elected president, managed to put up anti-queen posters and billboards in nine different cities across Britain just days before the start of Jubilee weekend.

According to Express, the group raised around £43,000 for advertising on Crowdfunder, with the message appearing in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Bristol and Birmingham.

The poster reads, 'Elizabeth the Last', in large white font with the hashtag #AbolishTheMonarch and photos of Prince Charles, William and Andrew.

On its crowdfunding page, Republic said: "As we approach the end of the Queen's reign, the country needs an honest, big debate about monarchy. We need to stop and ask ourselves: can we just Can't choose your next head of state?

"With elections showing young people the will of the elected head of state, the succession of King Charles will be a major turning point in the history of the monarchy and in the development of Britain's republican movement ... it is time to make Elizabeth the last."

His research is supported by a number of U.G. surveys that prove that most young Britons should have an elected head of state rather than a monarch.
