Video posted by Matthew McConaughey begins, 'It is and was about gun responsibility'
Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camilla Alves McConaughey are using their social media platforms to raise awareness about gun safety laws.
The pair shared an inspiring message about gun reforms on their respective social media handles on Friday.
The Interstellar actor posted a black and white video of him and Camilla campaigning for gun control and law reforms in Washington, DC.
"It is and was about gun responsibility," the video began. "Camilla and I met with more than 30 members from both sides. We met with leaders of the Senate, the House, and President Joe Biden."

"It's about mental health, safe schools .... and keeping guns out of the irresponsible hands that still have access to them today by the rule of law," the caption continued. "Solutions must come from both sides."
The video ends with a clarion call that echoes McConaughey's recent comments on gun safety: "For ourselves, for our children, for Republicans, Democrats, and our fellow Americans... it's time to be responsible. "
The 52-year-old Academy Award winning actor captioned his post, "Keep high eye #gunresponsibilty".
In early June, McConaughey visited the White House during a press briefing to make an emotional plea challenging gun ownership laws.
The actor is a native of Uvalde, Texas, where 19 students and two teachers were killed by 18-year-old Salvador Ramos during a shooting at Rob Elementary on May 24.
