Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles have confirmed they will not attend Easter service this year
Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla have confirmed they will not attend the traditional royal Easter Sunday service in Windsor this year, Sky News reports.
Buckingham Palace's statement about the Queen's withdrawal came moments after it was confirmed that the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall would also be missing.
The 95-year-old Samrat, who also celebrates her 96th birthday next week, has been battling mobility issues for months, with reports suggesting that she is using an electric golf cart to move around easily.
She has also pulled out of several royal events in recent months, the latest being a Maundy Day church service on Thursday, where Charles represented her.
His forced absence from the incident is said to have left the queen 'deeply disappointed'.
