Multan: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said on Wednesday that journalism plays an important role in the progress and upliftment of a country.
Speaking to reporters at the Multan Circuit House, the Governor said that the media has also played the role of opposition all over the world. He condemned the attacks on journalists and strongly condemned the aggressive action against journalists. He said that after the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor on the basis of merit, the performance of all the universities has improved. He said that the country can face great challenges in providing work on the basis of merit.
Inaugurating more than twenty new drinking water projects worth Rs 6 crore for South Punjab, he said that if he can, tomorrow he will make South Punjab a separate province. He said that no one is removing Prime Minister Imran Khan and no one can remove him. He and the government will complete their constitutional term.
Jahangir Khan Tareen is still a part of PTI. He said that neither he has left PTI nor is he a part of anti-government campaign. Replying to a question, the Governor said that some in PTI may have different views but they are all on the same view.
